Woking came from behind for the second away game in a row to clinch all three points in the first-ever meeting at Meadowbank. A brace from Rohan Ince, including a world-class volley from nearly 40 yards out, helped overturn a second-half penalty, scored by Jason Prior.

Kyran Lofthouse nearly had the first attempt at goal in the opening minutes, but he missed the ball as it was dropped back to him by Padraig Amond.

Dan Gallagher then went close for Dorking’s first chance, as his header was tipped over the bar by Will Jaaskelainen, returning in goal ahead of Craig Ross.

Josh Taylor found himself one-on-one with Jaaskelainen moments later but the midfielder's effort was kept out by the ‘keeper.

Just past the half-hour mark, a corner ball from the right was headed just over the bar by new highly anticipated signing, Kacsper Lopata, up from the back.

HT: 0-0

In the second half, the first chance fell to The Cards, as skipper Josh Casey's cross was met by Billy Sass-Davies who headed straight into the arms of Dan Lincoln.

Another chance for the away side went begging as Amond's header was cleared just in front of goal, before Lofthouse then drove the rebound wide of the post.

Just past the hour mark, Wanderers were awarded a penalty after Jaaskelainen fouled James McShane in his area. A similar challenge to the one he committed against Maidstone, resulted in a spot kick from 12 yards this time around. Prior stepped up and effortlessly chipped it down the middle to put the home side in front.

Woking responded just 10 minutes later though through what can only be described as a moment of pure magic. Ince took a touch, just inside the opponent’s half and let fly to see the ball glide over everyone and eventually Lincoln too. If ever you are going to concede, that is the way to do it. Absolutely nothing the home side could have done to prevent it.

This sparked a real kick of determination from the supporters and its aurora clearly made its way to the players. Just three minutes later, The Cards were ahead when a corner deep at the back post was headed across goal, finding Ince who jumped highest to nod the ball down into the bottom left-hand corner. The 1,350 away fans were sent into an emotion not many get to experience as the comeback had been completed.

FT: 1-2

With results elsewhere going in Woking’s favour, it’s hard to not rank this as one of the best away days of the season. James Daly returned to the squad and the determination right to the very end was shown by all once again.

A win on Monday at home to Southend United will officially clinch a playoff place for the first time ever in step five and start the next chapter of this incredible fairy tale that has been 2022/23. But as it has been said so many times before, we go again and no more so than Monday for another big clash! #COYCards
