U19’s National League Alliance Division C, 28th September 2022, 1:30pm, Watford, Hertfordshire.

Brentford Community Supporters Trust U19’s suffered their first defeat of the season thanks to a dominant first half performance from Kings Langley U19’s. The Sun Postal Sports and Social Club opened its gates for the first time this season and got underway in the most exhilarating fashion. Both teams came into this early fixture with opposite form, with the hosts losing out 3-1 last week to Beaconsfield Town U19’s whereas the Bees were victorious 3-2 up against Luton Town U19’s Shadow (Cedars).

This Wednesday afternoon game, kicked off at 1:30pm and right from the very first kick, Kings Langley took control. They took the lead before the half hour mark, with Jack Child scoring on his first Lango appearance of the season. Brentford CST then would go onto have an eight minute nightmare as they shipped in three goals, including an own goal, just before the break. Tai Wheeler and Jack Thompson were the other two on the scoresheet adding misery to the visitors.

Kings Langley had scored all their goals within the first 45 minutes and so despite the two goals from Brentford CST, it wasn’t enough as they consequently fell to a defeat. The Kings did make two half time changes despite scoring four, which could affect team morale but then yet again it could be to get everybody up to match fitness as a busy season gets underway. The hosts will, however, be disappointed and concerned that ‘keeper Lucas Bennett was substituted late on and will hope that he is able to get back in between the sticks for the upcoming Cup match against Luton Town U19’s Shadow (Cedars).

For the Bees, their next matchup is not in the Cup, due to a bye, meaning they will have to wait a further week, for when they will be taking on Enfield Town U19’s Academy back at their home ground of Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub.

Whilst it may still be early days, this result sees Brentford CST drop to 7th, one place below Kings Langley in 6th, who are above simply by goal difference.
